Low Self-Confidence

The causes behind low self-confidence are many and varied. We all perceive the outcome of events differently. Some of us may lose an argument and feel that our self-confidenc has been dented. Whilst at other times we can lose the argument but manage to keep self confidence intact. A lack of confidence can restrict life and stop us from grasping the opportunities that present themselves.

Most people do not realise that they can control their perceptions, altering them so they are of benefit. Once they realise that they do have some control over the way they think, they then start to redirect their perceptions to a more positive and healthier conclusion. People with good self-confidence experience common life events too. The way they deal with the events is what makes the difference.

Cognitive behavioural therapy trains clients to choose how they think and how they can look at things differently. Thinking, both negative and positive is habitual and, like any habit, can be changed through conscious awareness. A confident person takes opportunities and as a result, has more options in life.
